Our Story

Innovation and excellence in battery storage technology

Since its foundation, VOLTIDA® has specialised in identifying, planning, financing and successfully implementing extensive battery storage projects throughout Austria. VOLTIDA® uses its comprehensive project development expertise to realise Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), both as stand-alone projects and in combination with existing generation plants or integrated into the microgrid of an industrial plant.

A milestone in our work was the commissioning of the first TESLA Megapack in Austria in 2022. With a capacity of 2.6 MWh, this project was the largest stand-alone battery storage system in the country at the time. It served as a showcase project to demonstrate the economic viability of large battery projects in Austria. Today, it makes a significant contribution to security of supply, supports the electricity grid, helps prevent blackouts and is also proving to be extremely profitable.

Projects with a total capacity of over 100 MWh are currently in the planning or implementation phase at several locations, further consolidating our leading position in the industry.

Individual project identities for maximum efficiency

Each of our large-scale battery storage projects is given a unique name that emphasises its individuality and strategic importance within our portfolio. Names such as Voltadue, Voltatre and Voltaquattro etc. characterise the specific projects that we implement in dedicated special purpose vehicles (SPVs). This structured approach enables us to manage each project with maximum focus and efficiency, from planning and financing through to operations. Through this personalised and structured approach, we not only create transparency and order, but also optimise the governance and management of each individual project in our portfolio.
